Community Outreach

We place a high priority on being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to the community that surrounds us and to the world at large. Through ongoing ministries and periodic outreach events, we strive to make the love and compassion of Jesus known to people in need on a local, regional and international basis. The Moscow Mills Community Food Pantry ministry and the Growing Tree DayCare are two examples of the ongoing efforts to ensure that the Church serves as a community resource. Noted below are a few of our other ministry events that we have felt called to provide to our neighbors and friends of the community:

• Parents' Night Out - We rented the Moscow Mills Community building and invited parents of the community to bring their children for a movie and game night while the parents enjoy a much-deserved quiet evening together to recharge their batteries and rekindle their marriage.
• Community Dinner - The folks of the Church cook up some tasty meals and invite the folks of the surrounding community to take a night off from the kitchen and the fast food windows. Enjoy the best of both worlds: A home cooked meal without the actual cooking so that you can enjoy some family fellowship instead of arguing about whose turn it is to do the dishes.
• Servant Sundays - Twice a year the folks of the Church form small service teams and go out into the community to serve the needs of folks who for whatever reason can't complete certain tasks on their own. We cut grass, rake leaves, cut down trees, paint inside and out ---- you name it, we do it, all in the name of loving our neighbors.
• Vacation Bible School - Each summer our professional Day Care team leads the effort in inviting the children of our surrounding area to enagage in a week of fellowship, Christian Education and all-around fun.
• Back to School Bash - This year we are planning for the first time to hold a back to school celebration with an emphasis on providing much needed supplies and services - free of charge - to the families of our community. School supplies and backpacks will be handed out and back to school haircuts will be given to all children and youth in need.
• Lord's Acre Sale - Each fall the community anticipates yet another opportunity to join us for food, fellowship and fun at the annual Lord's Acre Sale. As always, the meals are substantial and the opportunities to find a special treasure are ample during auction time.
• Community Christmas Celebration - As Moscow Mills gathers together for their annual Christmas with Santa celebration at the Community Center, we are always present to lead the Christmas Caroling and hand out treats.

Join us for these and other events. The primary objective of our Community Outreach ministries is to help meet the practical needs of people in our community and to provide meaningful, yet fun interaction with the Church for children and adults.
